Copper ‘Chakoshi’ Tea Strainer & Holder (Blue)

Artisan - Torii Kanaami

1 review

This unique set consists of a large copper ‘Chakoshi’ tea strainer/infuser by Torii Kanaami, and Kiyomizu-yaki ceramic holder. Both are hand crafted in Kyoto.

Established in 1889, Torii Kanaami have a long history making utensils for tea, traditional Japanese cooking, and also netting that is used by Shrines, Temples, and Machiya townhouses throughout Kyoto.

The copper changes colour over time and use, adding a unique character to this already intricate utensil.

Love my new strainer and holder. It’s lovely in the pics, but gorgeous in person. The colors go so well together and I can tell it’s quality. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks Koto Tea 🙂
