Dessert Knife ‘Kashikiri’ Tinned Copper
This Kashikiri, or dessert knife, is designed for Japanese ‘Wagashi’ sweets that traditionally accompany matcha tea and green tea. It can however be used for any sweets and cakes.
It is hand made by two specialist artisans who collaborated to produce this unique and sophisticated utensil. Tomomi Oguni, a metalworker from Kanagawa crafted the Kashikiri knife made of copper with polished tin blade, and Eriko Matsunaga from Yamanashi is a textiles and dyeing Artisan who crafted the ‘Saya’ sheath.
Both are housed in a ‘Kiri’ (paulownia wood) box to complete this refined and distinctive piece.
